Magpie follows Asa Katz, released from 17 years in prison on the condition he becomes a police informant. Returning to his old neighborhood, Asa reconnects with his brother David, a successful realtor whose wealth comes from questionable dealings. Caught between his criminal past and his obligation to law enforcement, Asa must navigate both worlds carefully. His conflicting loyalties create constant tension as he plays each side against the other, exploiting the precarious balance for his own gain. The series explores how far Asa will go to survive in a world where trust is currency and betrayal is always an option.
