Soap Opera is a Mexican comedy series about Isabel, a screenwriter who finally lands her dream job writing for a hit telenovela—only to be betrayed by her mentor Lauro Valente. At the premiere, a magical twist transports her directly into the telenovela as its lead character. Now trapped inside the very world she created, Isabel must navigate melodramatic plotlines and over-the-top scenarios to expose Valente's treachery and prove her creative worth. The series blends behind-the-scenes industry satire with the absurd conventions of telenovela storytelling, as Isabel discovers that real life inside the genre is far more chaotic than she imagined.
