Texas is an American daytime soap opera that aired on NBC from August 1980 to December 1982. A spinoff of Another World, the series was produced by Procter & Gamble Productions at NBC Studios in Brooklyn and co-created by head writers John William Corrington and Joyce Hooper Corrington alongside executive producer Paul Rauch. The show followed the interconnected lives and dramatic entanglements of its core cast as they navigated love, betrayal, and family secrets in a Texas setting. Like its parent series, Texas delivered the melodramatic storytelling and cliffhangers that defined the daytime soap opera genre during the early 1980s. Though it ran for just over two years, the series maintained the production values and narrative complexity audiences expected from Procter & Gamble's television output.
