Trader(2023)

Trader follows Oleg Nesterov, an ambitious young oil trader caught between Russian and American intelligence agencies during the final years of Saddam Hussein's regime. Set from 1995 to 2003, the series traces Oleg's transformation from principled newcomer to reluctant participant in the geopolitical machinations surrounding Iraq's fall and the outbreak of war. Constantly pressured by corrupt superiors, criminal associates, and his own conscience, Oleg faces impossible choices: loyalty versus morality, personal gain versus human cost, love versus survival. The show examines how ordinary ambition becomes entanglement in state crimes, and how one man's decisions ripple through historical events beyond his control. Trader is a tense exploration of complicity, corruption, and the price of staying silent in a world where everyone has an agenda.
