Manneri(2017)

Manneri is a Japanese drama following Masami, a beautician who returns to Tokyo after her relationship with Naoki deteriorates into a sexless, lonely existence. Seeking refuge, she asks to stay with her aunt Misa, who runs a downtown coffee shop with her husband Takuya. While Misa welcomes her warmly, Takuya resists—the cramped living quarters and Masami's youth create tension in their home. As Masami settles in, strange nocturnal disturbances begin, rooted in an unsettling presence that disrupts the household's fragile peace. The film explores themes of displacement, desire, and the supernatural forces that emerge when fractured lives collide under one roof.
