On July 15, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under Manfred Honeck featured percussionist Martin Grubinger performing works by Tan Dun and Bruno Hartl, followed by Carl Michael Ziehrer's concert waltz and a fantasy on themes from Dvořák's "Rusalka." Dmitri Shostakovich's variety suite closed the evening. The next night, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under Valery Gergiev took the stage at the Feldherrnhalle, with pianist Yuja Wang performing Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Gergiev conducting Ravel's orchestral arrangement of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition."
