Bolshaya Peremena is a Russian coming-of-age film about the messy realities of being sixteen. The protagonist navigates a minefield of adolescent choices: accepting blame for classmates' poor grades, pursuing an unrequited crush, attending a grandmother's funeral despite never knowing her, and finally working up the courage to confess something important to his mother.
