Local Band follows Lyla Riley, a determined punk rocker fronting Minor Illusion, a struggling Chicago band that's far from polished. Alongside her best friend Rob on guitar, drummer Sean, and bassist Pete, Lyla navigates the gritty DIY music scene with borrowed money, terrible gigs, and constant lineup drama. Her older sister Stephanie—a former punk turned corporate worker—watches with disapproval as the band stumbles through drunken rehearsals and failed shows. As Minor Illusion scrapes toward their shot at legitimacy, Lyla discovers what it takes to survive the unforgiving world of local music. A raw, comedic look at ambition, friendship, and the messy reality of chasing dreams in a punk band.
