Children of the poor(1942)

Children of the Poor is an Egyptian drama exploring family betrayal and social hardship across generations. When Fouad Pasha refuses to support his bankrupt brother, his son Zaki abandons his cousin Hosnia after assaulting her. Forced into marriage with farmer Ibrahim, Hosnia bears a daughter, but Ibrahim, doubting the child's paternity, abandons them both. Desperate and alone, Hosnia survives as a nightclub dancer while her tuberculosis-stricken daughter works as a singer. The film traces how one act of cruelty ripples through a family, trapping women in cycles of poverty and shame.
