Molière, Cyrano and the Young King is a historical comedy-drama set during the Paris rebellion. Young Louis XIV is hidden from danger and secretly replaced at court by a look-alike, then entrusted to the musketeer-poet Cyrano de Bergerac. Louis shelters within Madeleine Béjart's traveling theater troupe, where the actor and aspiring playwright Molière has just arrived—unaware their newest member is France's future king. As Cyrano struggles to manage the arrogant, clumsy young monarch, he begins writing a bold play. Molière transforms the work with wit and heart, awakening his comic genius and deepening his feelings for Madeleine, while Louis discovers the joy of theater and friendship.
