The Desert Mermaid

Jalpari is an Indian family drama following tomboy Shreya as she persuades her widower father Dev to return to their ancestral village in Haryana, a place he's long avoided. Shreya's persistence wins out, and she travels there with Dev, her brother Sam, and their grandmother. Once they arrive, the family uncovers the painful reasons behind Dev's reluctance to return home. The film explores themes of family secrets, generational conflict, and reconciliation as the characters confront their past and discover what truly binds them together in their ancestral roots.
