California Firebrand is a 1948 Western following cowboy Monte Hale as he returns home to solve his uncle's murder. Mistaken for a notorious outlaw, Monte is hired by the town's corrupt mayor, Lance Dawson, to serve as sheriff. Working undercover, Monte sabotages Dawson's scheme to seize local land holdings. He takes up the cause of a gold mine owner, a spirited woman skeptical of his true intentions, who demands he prove his loyalty. As Monte navigates the dangerous line between his cover and his mission, he must outmaneuver Dawson's grip on the town while winning the trust of the woman he's sworn to protect.
