The Goob(2014)

The Goob is a coming-of-age film set during a sweltering summer in Fenland, England. Sixteen-year-old Goob Taylor has spent every summer working at his mother's transport cafe and harvesting beet fields, but his world shifts when she begins a relationship with Gene Womack, a charismatic stock-car racer who leaves Goob feeling sidelined. Everything changes when Eva, an exotic beet picker, arrives at the farm. Her flirtation awakens something in Goob—a longing for escape and possibility beyond the fields he's always known. As the heat intensifies, Goob must navigate his newfound feelings and his place within his fractured family, caught between the life he knows and the one he dreams of.
