In Pursuit of Barbara is an unreleased short film born from an unusual 1990 collaboration. Director Jean Rollin was tasked with reshaping footage that Jesús Franco had shot nearly two decades earlier in 1971 into a new jungle adventure. Rollin abandoned the project after only a few days of additional shooting in a Madrid hotel garden, leaving the film incomplete. The resulting curiosity never saw theatrical or official release, existing instead as a forgotten artifact of experimental European filmmaking from that era. Its fragmentary nature—combining Franco's original material with Rollin's brief intervention—makes it a rare footnote in both directors' careers.
