Rich and Scary: Independent Soap Movie Experience is an 80s-inspired soap opera following German mogul Michaela von Baer as she fights to protect Von Baer Enterprises from mounting enemies. Her cousin Clarissa Oktavia, a Russian starlet presumed dead, returns alive, complicating Michaela's already precarious position. Policewoman Penelope Stöcker pursues revenge for her father's suicide, while Police Inspector Brigitte Hasentritt—who investigated Clarissa's disappearance—becomes entangled in the chaos, eventually marrying one of Michaela's exes and controlling most of the company.
