Riverbanks(2015)

Riverbanks is a Greek drama set along the militarized Evros River border, where a platoon of sappers risks their lives clearing a deadly minefield. Yannis, one of the soldiers, encounters Chryssa, a smuggler who guides migrants and refugees across the treacherous waters. When their worlds collide in the minefield's shadow, both face impossible choices shaped by danger and desperation. As Chryssa disappears into the darkness, Yannis is left behind to grapple with love and loss amid the wreckage of their brief connection. The film explores the human cost of borders through two people caught between duty and compassion, where survival becomes inseparable from understanding what it means to care for another.
