Ein Sommer im Burgenland is a German drama following Paul Graf, a Berlin businessman whose meddling mother Maria discovers he's about to become a father while he's away in Shanghai. Without his permission, Maria travels to the Burgenland farm where Nina, the expectant mother, lives with her uncle Harald, who runs a stork sanctuary. As Paul arrives to claim his role in his unborn son's life, tensions mount between him and the independent Nina. Meanwhile, Maria reconnects with Harald and uncovers a buried family secret: the Grafs fled Hungary during the Soviet suppression of the 1956 uprising.
