The Love Mazurka(1957)

The Love Mazurka is a period drama set in early 18th-century Krakow. Poor student Simon earns his way through studies as a travelling musician, while freedom fighter Jan flees Saxon troops. When both men cross paths in Count Kovalska's carriage, they become entangled with the Count's daughters Laura and Bronislava. Romance blooms amid the tension between their circumstances—Simon's humble struggle for education and Jan's dangerous flight from authority—as the four navigate desire against the backdrop of Polish upheaval.
