Short of Love is a Hong Kong comedy following Wong Zi Kit, a wealthy investment guru managing over 800 million in daily funds. Accustomed to lavish spending on luxury goods, fine wine, and women, Zi Kit's world shifts when the economic recession hits. Though his fortune survives relatively intact—leaving him fortunate compared to bankrupt clients—his girlfriend Lily assumes he's lost everything and abandons him. The breakup becomes a turning point. Determined to win back his dream girl, Zi Kit reinvents himself, embracing an ordinary life to prove he's worth loving for who he truly is, not his wealth. The film explores whether genuine connection can flourish when stripped of material excess.
