Sleepytime Gal(1942)

Sleepytime Gal is a 1940s musical comedy centered on Bessie Cobb, a cake decorator at a Miami hotel who gets caught up in an ambitious scheme. Chick Patterson, the hotel's bell captain, hatches a plan to enter Bessie in a singing contest sponsored by bandleader Danny Marlowe, hoping to make his fortune along with his fiancée and three eccentric chefs. He secretly records Bessie's voice and substitutes it for that of "Sugar" Caston, a rival contestant backed by a gangster. When members of a competing gang mistake Bessie for Sugar and come after her, the scheme spirals into chaos.
