Muzikantská Liduška(1940)

Muzikantská Liduška is a Czech drama centered on a young woman caught between love and family duty. When wealthy farmer Stanek's daughter falls for Toník, a poor violinist, her parents forbid the romance and arrange her marriage to the landowner's son instead. Liduška resists their plans and prepares to elope with Toník, but when he's conscripted into military service, she loses hope. Facing her parents' relentless pressure and her lover's absence, Liduška surrenders to their demands and agrees to the unwanted wedding. The film explores the clash between personal desire and parental authority in rural society, where social class and family obligation override individual choice.
