Messages is a psychological thriller set in England, following American pathologist Dr. Richard Murray as he spirals into grief and alcoholism eight months after his wife Carol dies in a car crash. Wracked by guilt over an affair, Murray experiences blackouts and fragmented memories of his drinking nights. When a serial killer begins targeting women in the area, American detective DCI Collins and psychologist Frances Beale arrive to aid local investigators. As the murders escalate, Murray receives mysterious messages he believes come from beyond the grave, driving him to seek counsel from his friend Father Randall. The film weaves together Murray's personal torment, the hunt for a killer, and questions of guilt, redemption, and the supernatural as the investigation tightens around those closest to the crimes.
