Our Daily Bread(2019)

Our Daily Bread is a rural drama about a marriage in crisis. Pedro and Leonor live together in the countryside, but their bond fractures when Leonor becomes increasingly devout, attending Sunday services and growing close to the local priest. Pedro, dismissive of religion and prone to mockery, watches his wife slip away. Jealousy consumes him, fueled by whispers from the church clerk. As tension mounts, Pedro's resentment boils over into violence. The film explores how faith and doubt can corrode intimacy, trapping two people in a suffocating domestic landscape where spiritual conviction and masculine pride collide with devastating consequences.
