Tulsi: Mathrudevobhava(2008)

Tulsi: Mathrudevobhava is a Kannada drama centered on a woman fighting impossible odds to protect her family's future. Tulsi is trapped in a marriage to a heavy-drinking Suraj and raising four children alone. When a family friend attempts to assault her, Suraj's violent retaliation sets off a chain of revenge. The attacker murders Suraj in cold blood, leaving Tulsi widowed and devastated. As if tragedy weren't enough, she receives a terminal blood cancer diagnosis. Facing her own mortality, Tulsi makes an agonizing decision: to arrange adoptions for each of her children with different families, believing separation offers them better lives than she can provide. The film explores maternal sacrifice and the impossible choices parents make when confronted with death.
