The Monster Pagoda(2020)

The Monster Pagoda is a fantasy film following Jiang Liu, a poor scholar conscripted by the powerful demon master Zhong Zhongwei to undertake a perilous mission: slay demons and save the world from destruction. During his quest, a mute snake demon named Wu Yu joins him, initially to protect Jiang Liu from mortal harm. Their bond deepens as they face mounting dangers together. Years pass as Jiang Liu trains and grows into a formidable demon master himself. Ultimately, he must make an impossible choice—sacrificing his own life to save Wu Yu from a terrible fate. The film blends martial arts action with romance and tragedy, exploring themes of duty, love, and redemption across a richly imagined supernatural world.
