A Flea in Her Ear is a filmed record of the final performance of Jiří Menzel's celebrated staging of Georges Feydeau's classic farce at Prague's Vinohrady Theatre. The production ran for twenty years, from its November 1996 premiere through April 2016, when it was performed for the 363rd and last time. Menzel's adaptation revived a role made famous by Vlastimil Brodský in an earlier 1960s version that became a television landmark. The 2016 recording captures a new generation of actors delivering Feydeau's intricate comedy of mistaken identities and marital chaos, with the director and cast members spanning the production's entire run in attendance for this farewell performance.
