Familiar is a 1942-set horror film following Richard Mason, a man enslaved as the servant to an ancient vampire dwelling in the depths of a decaying mansion. Trapped in a cycle of physical and psychological torment, Mason is forced to procure victims for his master's hunger in order to stay alive. The film explores the dark codependency between captor and captive, as Mason navigates the impossible choice between his own survival and the moral cost of his complicity. Blending gothic atmosphere with psychological dread, Familiar examines how desperation and fear can corrupt even the most resistant conscience.
