Samson et Dalila(1981)

Samson et Dalila is a biblical drama following the Hebrew strongman Samson, who alone among his people trusts in God's promise of liberation from Philistine rule. When Abimelech, the Philistine satrap of Gaza, mocks the Hebrew God and attacks Samson, the warrior kills him with his own sword. Desperate to crush the Hebrews, the High Priest of Dagon devises a cunning scheme: he sends the beautiful Delilah to seduce Samson and extract the secret of his supernatural strength. Though Samson loves her, Delilah's loyalty lies with the Philistines. She betrays him to soldiers who capture and imprison him in Gaza, stripping him of his hair—the source of his power. The film explores themes of faith, desire, and betrayal against the backdrop of ancient conflict between two peoples.
