This Side of Resurrection(2011)

This Side of Resurrection is a Portuguese drama following siblings Inês and Rafael, separated since their parents' divorce. When Inês learns Rafael has returned to Guincho Beach—a legendary surf spot where he once dominated the waves—she abandons home to find him. Now Rafael tests himself against the ocean's most dangerous swells, seeking meaning in the physical extremes. The beach reunites them in a place where their family once knew happiness. But Inês discovers her brother staring toward the Serra de Sintra mountains, where the Convent of the Capuchos stands as his former refuge. A crisis of faith grips Rafael, and when he vanishes, Inês realizes he's returned to the convent. Desperate to save him, she pursues him into the spiritual and emotional depths that threaten to pull him away from her forever.
