Barney(1976)

Barney is a period adventure film set in the nineteenth century. A twelve-year-old boy and a hardened criminal are both being transported by ship from England to Australia when disaster strikes and the vessel wrecks. As the sole survivors of the catastrophe, the unlikely pair must rely on each other to endure the harsh conditions ahead. Forced into an unexpected partnership, they gradually overcome their differences and form an unlikely friendship. The film explores themes of redemption and human connection as two people from vastly different worlds discover common ground in their struggle for survival.
