Decoding Deepak is a documentary that follows filmmaker Gotham Chopra as he spends a year traveling globally to understand his father, spiritual leader Deepak Chopra. Caught between the public icon and the private man, Gotham wrestles with two competing versions of the same person—the spiritual authority admired worldwide and the father known intimately at home. What begins as a personal portrait evolves into a broader meditation on identity, legacy, and the gap between public perception and private reality. The film explores how we construct and consume the personas of influential figures, and what it means to know someone when the world thinks it knows them too.
