Em Volta(2002)

Em Volta follows Vicente, a newspaper journalist who travels to Egypt on assignment but extends his journey into something far more personal. Driven by restlessness and a need to escape his troubled romantic life, he traces the historic routes of Portuguese seafarers along the Tropic of Cancer, visiting Egypt, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, Laos, and China. As Vicente moves deeper into these distant lands, he drifts further from home in both geography and time. The film captures his gradual transformation across continents, exploring themes of wanderlust, self-discovery, and the pull between freedom and belonging. Ultimately, Vicente must confront what it means to return.
