Fateless is a Hungarian film following György Köves, a 14-year-old boy deported to Buchenwald during World War II. After his father disappears into the forced labor system, György is rounded up from a brickyard and transported to a concentration camp, where he encounters both unexpected camaraderie and unimaginable cruelty. Stripped of his former life, he grapples with survival, dignity, and the meaning of identity amid suffering and death. The film shifts between sepia, black and white, and color cinematography to reflect György's emotional journey. As he endures the horrors of the camp, he must confront profound questions about what it means to be human, to be Jewish, and what awaits him if he returns home to Budapest.
