Linefork(2016)

Linefork is a documentary portrait of Lee and Opal Sexton, who live in the Eastern Kentucky mountains where Lee was born and raised. A retired coal miner in his eighties, Lee is a revered banjo legend and living keeper of American folk tradition. Despite his age, he continues performing and teaching his distinctive two-finger banjo style to younger musicians determined to preserve this vanishing cultural heritage. The film captures the couple's daily life and quiet resilience while documenting Lee's raw, delicate music—a singular voice rooted in the deep past yet urgently alive in the present.
