Look(2007)
Who is watching?
Look is an experimental film told entirely through security camera footage across multiple locations. The narrative weaves together interconnected stories: a store manager conducting affairs with his employees, a high schooler plotting to seduce her teacher, a predator hunting at a mall food court, and two thieves on a violent rampage. Each thread is captured by the detached gaze of surveillance cameras in storage rooms, parking lots, shopping malls, and police vehicles. The film examines human behavior through fragmented, voyeuristic perspectives, creating an unsettling portrait of desire, crime, and moral compromise. By restricting the viewer to what cameras can see, Look challenges conventional storytelling while raising questions about observation, privacy, and complicity in the digital age.
