Screwed is a semi-biographical drama based on the true experiences of former UK prison guard Ronnie Thompson. James D'Arcy stars as Sam Norwood, a former soldier who returns from Iraq and takes a job as a prison officer in one of Britain's most dangerous facilities. Once inside, Norwood discovers a brutal underworld of corruption, drug trafficking, and institutional violence. The film follows his struggle to navigate this hostile environment while confronting the moral compromises demanded by the system. Adapted from Thompson's memoir, Screwed features strong supporting performances from Noel Clarke, Frank Harper, and Jamie Foreman. The story offers an unflinching look at the realities of prison life from an insider's perspective, exploring how institutions can corrupt those meant to uphold order.
