Shapath(1997)

Shapath is an Indian crime drama set in Mumbai, where Inspector Kishan navigates corruption and gang warfare while pursuing his personal dreams. Living modestly with his younger brother Rahul, Kishan romances Kavita, daughter of a local politician, while Rahul courts Neena. The city groans under the control of corrupt officials and ruthless criminals—Rana Jung Bahadur, Chaurasia, and the brothers Rajeshwar and Lankeshwar dominate the underworld. When Chaurasia makes a power grab, violent turf wars erupt across the streets. Kishan's attempt to arrest the kingpin draws warnings from his superiors. Tragedy strikes when Rahul witnesses Chaurasia's enforcer Surya commit murder, only to become the next victim himself. The film explores duty, brotherhood, and the cost of standing against systemic corruption in a city consumed by crime.
