Side Effect is a horror film about Lauren, an overachieving teenage babysitter tasked with caring for the Allen family's young children. Stressed and exhausted, Lauren turns to a new prescription medication to keep up with her demanding workload. The drug works—she becomes eerily efficient—but at a terrible cost. Her appearance warps and her personality hardens into something cold and menacing. When the Allens return home, they discover the nightmarish consequences of Lauren's pharmaceutical desperation.
