Springtime Man(2011)

Springtime Man is a crime drama following Haruo, a former Yakuza operative who flees Tokyo with stolen cash and a vulnerable Filipina bar girl, seeking redemption in Manila's railside slums. Haunted by his violent past and the consequences of his escape, Haruo attempts to build an anonymous life selling food to the city's poorest residents, giving much of it away to the hungry. He rents a cramped room in the sprawling metropolis, keeping his distance from everyone around him—including Edna, an aging bar girl who occasionally shares his bed. As Haruo drifts through congested streets among desperate souls, his quiet existence becomes a fragile refuge from the criminal world that still hungers for him. The film explores whether a man shaped by violence can truly reinvent himself, or if his past will inevitably catch up.
