The Beginner(1985)

The Beginner is a science fiction film about Mike, a movie enthusiast who builds a machine allowing him to step into films playing on his VCR. When Mike and his friend Tommy test the device, they attract unwanted attention from two rival electronics companies desperate to steal the invention's secrets. As the pair navigate both the worlds inside the films and the real-world threat closing in around them, they must stay one step ahead of corporate espionage.
