Wellstone!(2004)

Wellstone! is a documentary about Paul Wellstone, the Minnesota progressive who built a political career on grassroots organizing and giving ordinary citizens a voice in government. His 1990 Senate campaign defied expectations, and he became known for his fiery advocacy and deep partnership with his wife Sheila. In 2002, while running for reelection, Wellstone's small plane crashed in the Minnesota north woods just eleven days before the election, ending his life and his campaign. The film traces the origins of his politics, his controversial path to the Senate, and the enduring legacy of his brand of progressive populism.
