Cliffs of Each(2019)

Cliffs of Each is a Japanese drama that follows a father's struggle for justice after his 14-year-old son is stabbed to death by a classmate. When Kyoichiro discovers that 13-year-old Mitsuru committed the crime, he confronts the harsh reality of Japan's juvenile law system, which prevents the boy from facing proportional punishment. Consumed by grief and rage, Kyoichiro directs his anger at both Mitsuru and his mother Hatsumi. Yet as the story unfolds, Kyoichiro begins to recognize that Hatsumi carries her own burden of suffering from her son's actions. The series explores themes of justice, parental guilt, and the collision between a father's desire for retribution and the recognition of shared human pain across two families devastated by tragedy.
