Old Is Gold(2019)

Old Is Gold is a Hong Kong series that follows the daily lives and hidden struggles of residents at Centenarian Home, a nursing facility managed by the warm-hearted Aunty Shan. When Aunty Shan receives a terminal diagnosis, she entrusts the home to Xin Xin, an inexperienced nurse grappling with her own personal challenges. As Xin Xin takes the helm, the residents' carefully guarded secrets begin to unravel: a model resident harbors unexpected truths, a mischievous grandfather questions his place in the home, a estranged son seeks connection with his father who has dementia, and an elderly architect's seemingly perfect life masks a pattern of deception. Through tender moments and difficult revelations, Old Is Gold explores how the elderly navigate loss, regret, and redemption while Xin Xin discovers whether she can truly lead the home through its most uncertain chapter.
