Moeyo Ken is a historical fantasy series set in Kyoto during Japan's modernization era. The Mobile Shinsengumi, an all-female militia descended from the legendary original Shinsengumi, fights to protect the city from demons, monsters, and reactionary forces threatening its westernization. Led by Yuuko Kondou, Toshie Hijikata, and Kaoru Okita—daughters of the original Shinsengumi's most feared commanders—the group operates under the principle of "Truth," guided by the enigmatic Ms. Oryou. Alongside Oryou's son Ryuunosuke, strategist Shintarou, inventor Gennai, and the cat monster Nekomaru, they hunt supernatural threats lurking in Kyoto's shadows. Yet their brutal methods raise an unsettling question: who will protect the city from the Mobile Shinsengumi itself?
