Steel River Blues(2004)
Steel River Blues is a British drama series that aired on ITV in 2004, following the working and personal lives of firefighters in Middlesbrough. Though critics quickly compared it to the earlier hit London's Burning, the two shows shared little beyond their firefighting backdrop. Steel River Blues was an ensemble drama with no single lead, featuring Daniel Casey, known for his role in Midsomer Murders, among its cast. The show's theme song was performed by Middlesbrough native Chris Rea. Despite its promising start, the series was cancelled after one season, with ITV announcing in January 2005 that it would not be recommissioned.
