Skag(1980)

Skag is a 1980 drama series starring Karl Malden as Pete Skagska, a steel mill foreman in Pittsburgh struggling to hold his family together. Created by Abby Mann and executive produced by Mann and Lee Rich, the show premiered on NBC as a three-hour television movie on January 6, 1980, before launching as a weekly series the following week. Though the network aired it Thursday nights at 10/9c, Skag found limited audience support and was cancelled after just six weeks on air. Malden's character embodies an ordinary working man navigating the pressures of industrial life and domestic responsibility during a turbulent era for American manufacturing.
