In His Chart is a Japanese medical drama following Ichito Kurihara, an overworked physician at a small rural hospital in Nagano Prefecture. Stretched thin across multiple specialties and often going days without sleep, Ichito relies on his wife Haru's steadfast support to survive the relentless pace. When his prestigious alma mater offers him a prestigious position with better hours and access to cutting-edge medicine, Ichito faces an impossible choice: accept the opportunity to reclaim his personal life and advance his skills, or stay with his vulnerable patients—people abandoned by larger hospitals as hopeless cases. The series explores the tension between ambition and compassion, duty and family, as Ichito weighs what it truly means to be a healer.
