O Direito de Nascer(2001)

O Direito de Nascer is a Brazilian telenovela that aired on SBT from May to October 2001. Based on a classic 1940 Cuban radio serial, the drama unfolds in early 20th-century Havana, where Maria Helena becomes pregnant after her fiancé abandons her. Terrified of her father's wrath, she secretly gives birth and leaves her son Alberto with the family maid. The boy grows up unaware of his true parentage, eventually becoming a doctor. When his past is finally revealed, long-buried secrets surface, forcing the family toward difficult reckoning and the possibility of healing. Directed by Roberto Talma and José Paulo Vallone, the series stars Guilhermina Guinle and João Vitti in a tale of hidden identity, class conflict, and the search for belonging.
