Oliver Twist(1999)

Oliver Twist is a period drama following a young orphan who escapes brutal workhouse conditions only to be drawn into London's criminal underworld. After asking for more food, Oliver is apprenticed out and flees to the streets, where he meets the Artful Dodger and falls under the influence of the pickpocket Fagin. When a kind gentleman, Mr. Brownlow, offers Oliver refuge, the boy becomes caught between two worlds—safety and the dangerous pull of his newfound companions. Bill Sikes, Fagin's ruthless associate, sees Oliver as valuable leverage, setting in motion a dark struggle for the orphan's fate.
