jPod is a comedic series based on Douglas Coupland's novel, following a group of misfits working in a Vancouver video-game company. The show premiered on CBC Television in January 2008 and quickly found an audience despite its short run. Though cancelled after one season due to low ratings, the series developed a devoted fanbase whose protests helped ensure most remaining episodes aired. Created by Coupland and Michael MacLennan, with Coupland co-writing several episodes, jPod captures the absurdist workplace dynamics and tech-industry satire of the source material. The opening theme, Flutter by Bonobo, sets the show's irreverent tone as it explores the lives and romantic entanglements of its ensemble cast navigating corporate culture and creative ambition.
